USA vs Japan 2011 Results- American Striker Alex Morgan Will Have Long Career
Alex Morgan may have been the MVP of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. The young American had the best day of any woman on the pitch and she did not even play the whole match.

Morgan came in after Lauren Cheney left at halftime with an ankle injury and absolutely imposed her will. She was the fastest player out there today and scored a goal, made a gorgeous serve to Abby Wambach for an assist, and nearly won it for the Americans after breaking lose in the 121st minute before going down to a sliding challenge from behind.

Morgan has a very bright future ahead of her with the United States Women’s National Team. She is currently their youngest talent, having just turned 22 earlier this month, and will be a regular with the squad for the foreseeable future.

Besides Cheney, the United States does not have too many promising forwards, especially speedy strikers with a nose for scoring goals. Abby Wambach is probably the best aerial player in the world, but she is 31-years-old and only has a maximum of two more World Cup runs left in her. Morgan will be the natural successor to her and will fill the goal-scoring void that Wambach leaves.

Morgan will possibly be the face of the US Women’s Soccer as well. The Internet has exploded with people searching for more information and pictures of her. The young Californian product is very good looking and it has only served to increase her popularity. It is a good thing that she is so skilled at the game making the attention well deserved.

Morgan and her team may have lost the 2011 Women’s World Cup, but she has a very promising career ahead of her. Keep an eye out for her in next years Olympics and the 2015 World Cup.
