 ISTEP+ results
The following pages break down the percentage of northeast Indiana school students who passed the ISTEP+ exam in 2011. Results are provided for both public and private schools.

The Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus was administered this spring to test students’ knowledge of English and math skills. Fourth- and sixth-graders were also tested in science, fifth- and seventh-graders in social studies.

The Journal Gazette determined the state rankings based on the percentage of students who passed both English and math tests and those who passed science or social studies.

The Indiana Department of Education did not provide data for schools if fewer than 10 students were tested.

The grades and the number of public schools ranked this year: third (1,074); fourth (1,065); fifth (966); sixth (691); seventh (472); eighth (470).

The grades and the number of private schools ranked this year: third (197); fourth (190); fifth (187); sixth (178); seventh (160); eighth (164).
