Copa America 2011 Results Eliminate Brazil as Paraguay Advances

For those that were watching the United States and Japan play an incredible match in the FIFA World Cup Final, they likely missed out on another incredible match between Brazil and Paraguay.

Brazil, much like the United States, appeared to outplay their opponent for a majority of the match but found themselves eliminated at the hands of Paraguay after failing to score in a shootout.  Paraguay won in penalty kicks 2-0.

With the victory, the hopes of those who fantasize about Larissa Riquelme remain alive.  Riquelme has promised to pose naked on the pitch if Paraguay can win the tournament, and they are now just two victories away from that.

Paraguay goalkeeper Justo Villar put on an incredible performance seemingly stopping chance after chance from the Brazil attack.

Brazil were the back to back champions of this event and appeared to be the favorite after Argentina went down in their quarterfinal match against Uruguay.

With both Brazil and Argentina being eliminated, the winner and the runner-up from the last two Copa Americas have both been sent packing and a new era is being ushered in that features Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Venezuela.

Paraguay will meet the winner of the match between Chile and Venezuela in their next match.  Uruguay and Peru will play in the other semifinal.
