Aligarh Muslim University - CBSE Representative to verify marks sheets of Class X pass outs

The Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education, Mr. Vineet Joshi assured the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University to depute one officer for verifying the marks sheet of Class X for the admission to Class XI in AMU. AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis was addressing a consultative meeting of the Deans of the Faculties, Principals of the Colleges and statutory officers of the University.

The admission process for Class XI will be started from July 6, 2011 as per schedule but the original marks sheets were not issued by the CBSE.

AMU Controller of Examination, Prof. Pervez Mustajab said that AMU was the first to declare result of Class X. CBSE result was declared on June 1, 2011 but original marks sheets have not been issued till date.

AMU Vice Chancellor said that Rs. 120 Crore school up-gradation project is expected to be approved by the Government of India within next two weeks. He further said that the Senior Secondary Education Board of the University will be revived.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the innovative efforts of the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. S. Mahdi Abbas Rizvi for adopting Biometric technique for the first time in the admission process in the B. Tech. admissions for preventing the growing malpractice of impersonation during the entrance test.

Prof. S. Mahdi Abbas Rizvi informed the meeting that ten cases have been referred for identity verification to forensic experts and the expert has been asked to complete the process of verification by July 7, 2011.

The decision was taken to use the biometric techniques in the MBBS/BDS admission process also.
