About Department of Technical Education
Before 1943, a few institutions offering skill based education called
“Occupational Institutes” existed, which later became polytechnics.
After independence Department of Technical Education was under the control of Public Instruction Department till 1959.
Department of Technical Education came into existence from 1959 in order to manage technical education in the state.
DTE is carrying out the administration, supervision, controlling and planning programs for the development of Technical Educational Institutions in the state both at Degree and
Diploma levels
